[REVIEW] Brooklyn Bar & Restaurant: A Slice of NYC in Dalian
Brooklyn Bar & Restaurant Review: Immerse yourself in a NYC dining experience in Dalian. Enjoy delectable meals and lively settings at this local gem!
When my favorite Western burger joints in Dalian closed during the pandemic, I began a quest for a new go-to spot.
Despite living in Dalian since 2019, I'd never visited Brooklyn Bar & Restaurant. As a self-proclaimed contrarian who avoids popular trends, I finally decided to give it a shot after multiple recommendations from fellow expats.
Atmosphere & Setting
Located in Dalian's Xigang District, Brooklyn Bar & Restaurant truly captures the essence of its namesake. With areas both upstairs and downstairs, the decor screams, "Welcome to Brooklyn, Home of the Greats!"
The background music, featuring old-school tunes and popular African American artists, transported me back to the States for a moment.
The Food
- BBQ Wings: Crispy skin, perfect sauce balance, served with carrots, celery, and ranch (40RMB for 6).
- Brooklyn Cheeseburger (85RMB): Double patty made from imported beef, homemade sesame bun, lettuce, tomato, house pickles, cheddar cheese, and secret sauce. A juicy, satisfying masterpiece!

- Brownie Sundae (40RMB): While the brownie didn't meet my gooey center and crispy edge expectations, the ice cream and chocolate sauce made up for it.
Service
The staff, especially our waiter Tony, were accommodating and courteous, answering all my questions satisfactorily.
Verdict
Brooklyn Bar & Restaurant is undoubtedly "Burger-certifiable." I mentally kicked myself for not visiting sooner.
With some of the best BBQ wings in town and a wholly enjoyable Brooklyn Cheeseburger, it's a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Western burger experience in Dalian.
