[Review] UNOME Cafe | Dalian, China
After seeking recommendations for Western-style burgers in Dalian, I visited UNOME Cafe, located across from InCity Mall in the Wanda Hua Fu area.
Living in Dalian as an expat, sometimes you just get hit with an irresistible craving for a juicy, mouthwatering Western-style burger.
When that urge struck me, I turned to my trusty WeChat group of fellow Dalian expats for recommendations. Among the suggestions that piqued my interest was UNOME, a place I hadn't tried before – so naturally, I had to check it out.
Located across from InCity Mall in the Wanda Hua Fu area, Unome Cafe is a local restaurant in Dalian that serves healthy entrees and dishes such as salads, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, handmade pizza, dessert, and an array of beverage options.
Atmosphere and Decor
UNOME's ambiance reminded me of Panera Bread, with a cozy cafe feel.

The restaurant quickly filled up during lunchtime, indicating its popularity among locals and expats alike.
The Good
- Blueberry Smoothie: A perfect blend of blueberries and yogurt, not too sweet and very filling.
- Roast Chicken Tacos: Crunchy shell filled with cold chicken, tomatoes, cilantro, and parsley. The crunch was satisfyingly reminiscent of ASMR videos.
- French Fries: Cut into v-shaped wedges with a delicious crispy golden texture.
- Passion Fruit Cheesecake: Velvety-smooth with the perfect intensity of flavor, though the crust could be improved.
The Not-So-Good
- Beef Burger: Unfortunately, the main attraction fell short. Despite being served with bacon and cheese, the patty had an unpleasant aftertaste and didn't meet my expectations for quality.

- Side Salad: Came with an unusually sour vinegar dressing.
Final Verdict
While UNOME offers some enjoyable dishes and desserts, it's not the place to go for a top-notch burger experience in Dalian. However, its popularity suggests that other menu items might be worth exploring in future visits.
